An old building with a legendary history! In 1660 the silver-coiner Peter Hase recieved the Krugrecht (catering privilege) by Duke Gerog Wilhlem for the tavern "Brauner Hirsch" ("Brown Deer").

The great wooden board on the inside tells the story of a deer which fled into this house while beeing hunted. The landlady decided to guard it agains the hunters so the Duke let it stay alive. That's how one of the oldest restaurants of Celle got its name!
